Nail Art September Round Up

Hello 🙂

Second post of the day! Sorry I’m trying to catch up! This is just a brief post to show all my blog followers my round up of my September Nail Art Challenge, which I posted on my Instagram. I didn’t do individual posts for these as I didn’t have time. I won’t go into detail but I 99% of the polishes I used were Barry M! I skipped Starbucks because I didn’t have time for that one and I wasn’t fussed on the theme.

So Susan Lacquerlove Subscription Box Festival Chic

Hello 🙂

If you follow me on other social media sites you’ll know I haven’t been well.. I came down with the flu which went straight to my chest and after a week I’m finally recovering. I’m hoping to be back blogging regularly now after missing a week!

I have blogged about the Lacquerlove Subscription Box before but let me recap for you:

“LacquerLove is So Susan’s answer to delivering a carefully edited range of our 4-Free (free from toluene, DBP, formaldehyde & formaldehyde resin) nail lacquers & cutting-edge cosmetics right to your doorstep every month. ”

It’s a monthly subscription for £14.95 in which you receive 4 nail polishes and a ‘free’ gift, normally makeup products. I’ve taken a while to post the swatches of the August box because one of the polishes, ‘Bangles’, was the same as a polish I received in the March box, ‘Deep Space’. They claimed it was different when I emailed in but kindly let me swap it for another polish anyway. Sadly, I had to pay for the postage but I shouldn’t complain too much.

Lets go through the original polishes first.
So Susan Orange Glow

Orange Glow is a bright, vivid, neon orange. It doesn’t like my skin tone but for anyone with a tan this’ll be great. Picture shows 3 coats, no topcoat. It was quite hard to capture, but I think this is as close to true colour as I’ll get!
So Susan Strawberry

Strawberry is a hot pink jelly. Here is shown 1, 2, 3 and 4 coats from index to pinky. Even after 4 coats it wasn’t opaque, so maybe it’s best applied over a base colour or used in a jelly sandwich. Again this is shown with no topcoat.

So Susan Rock & Roll

Rock & Roll is a coppery/red shimmery polish, with gold hints. Again this one doesn’t like my skin tone, I’m too pale/pink! It applies well though and is a nice colour for people with better skin tone than me. Here is 2 coats, no topcoat.

Apparently, I forgot to take a bottle shot, but this is Deep Space from the March box, which is exactly the same as Bangles that was in the August box – which I swapped out. It has a purple base with red and blue glitters. Applies opaque in 2 coats. Here it’s shown with a topcoat.

So Susan Summer Breeze

Summer Breeze is the colour I swapped for Bangles. It’s a lovely rich royal blue and happens to have a waxy finish which I didn’t realise and was pleasantly surprised by! It’s opaque in 2 coats and you can apply a top coat if you so desire but above it’s swatched without.

Overall I love the boxes but I can’t really afford £14.95 a month as a student, so I’ve had to cancel my subscription even though the following boxes were amazing.. Maybe after christmas!

Tomorrow I’ll resume my Series of Untried Nail Arts after missing a week 🙂
