It’s Christmas Eve! Hurray! I’m super excited… even though I’m currently at work whilst you’re reading this.. (scheduled post!) but it does make the time pass quicker! I thought I would do Mr and Mrs Claus for my christmas eve nail art. Enjoy!
For this nail art I started with one coat of NYC Pinstripe White (reviewed here) on my index and pinky and 2 coats of China Glaze Just Be-Claws on my middle and ring finger. I wanted Mr and Mrs Claus to sparkle! I then added one coat of Moyra Angel Dust over the white and let it dry whilst I did the details on my other fingers. I used a dotting tool to add the white fluff to their coats and acrylic paint and a nail art brush to add the belts. The gold detailing was done using China Glaze Mingle withKringle, which I also brushed over Angel Dust using a fan brush. I’m not sure about this bit but oh well… I finished the Mr and Mrs off with a top coat and it’s done. Very festive! I actually received the China Glaze polishes last year for Christmas and I haven’t really worn any of the reds that I got but now is the right time!
I hope you all have a very lovely Christmas, enjoy the food and let all your wishes come true!
My swatches of days 21-24 from my Ciaté minimanimonth will be up on boxing day 🙂
I wish the title was true! I can’t remember the last time I had a white Christmas where I live! Oh well.. one day. This is just a quick post to show you one of my Christmas nail arts, featuring Ethereal Lacquer – Neptune. So enjoy..
I started off painting all my nails with Barry M Matte White, then on my index and pinky I applied 1-2 coats of Neptune. I bought this nail polish from Mei Mei Signatures a long time ago, so I’m not even sure it’s available anymore.. Anyway I thought it felt quite christmas-y with it’s mixture of various sized blue and silver hex and circle glitters. I has a crelly white base so does need a base colour really and the larger glitters do need a bit fishing and careful placement!
I then did a sponge gradient using Barry M Matte White, Huckleberry and Guava on my ring and index fingers and applied a fast dry top coat. Once this had dried I used BM Silver Foil Effect polish and the snowflake designs on Born Pretty Store plate m59, which is from 16 piece bundle (now unavailable, sorry!). And that was it 🙂 It didn’t take to long at all.
Is everyone is the Christmas spirit yet?! I’m so excited despite working a LOT!
I have days 15-19 of my Ciaté Mini Mani month today. Once again I apologise for the crappy lighting! 😦 and.. my nubs! I had a lot of breakages at work yesterday so I’m starting fresh…
Day 15: Play Date. A pinky-red, not too dissimilar to some other colours in the Mini Mani Month… opaque in 1-2 coats.. nothing special and no complaints really!
Day 16: Members Only. A sheer shimmery nude, which I don’t think will go opaque in any less than about 10 coats! A lovely colour, none-the-less and would probably look good over a nude base colour.
Day 17: Frost Yourself. Blue and silver caviar pearls… I hate these things, sorry but I do.. They’re unnecessarily messy and don’t even look that nice on the nail.. maybe I’ll use them for embellishments rather than the whole nail.
Day 18: Amazing Gracie. A lovely soft very baby pink/nude! Surprisingly opaque in 2-3 coats. No complaints here 🙂
Day 19: Underwear. A basecoat. Nothing special.. again.. dries quick so can’t complain!
4/5 – Some of these colours are getting a bit same-y! And caviar pearls. = totally not my thing.
