Hello 🙂
I know I’m a bit behind the times, but I finally got round to buying the Barry M Glitterati collection 🙂 Hurray! Today I have the first 3 for you and the other 3 will be up at some point this weekend or early next week. All of the polishes in this collection are packed with glitter and have a tinted base. I used Barry M Basecoat, Topcoat & Nail Hardener and Matte Topcoat in all of these swatches, all base colours are also Barry M polishes.

Starlet is a hot pink based polish with glitter that is both holographic and regular hexes, in various sizes. It was easy to apply and drying time is relatively quick. I think I prefer it as a topper over a base colour due it being quite textured and not easy to smooth out with top coat but it does apply opaque in 3 coats.

Socialite is a fuchsia pink and is once again packed with the same glitters as in Starlet, although I felt that it had better coverage/more glitter pieces in. Drying time is the same and yes, I prefer it as a topper for the same reasons.

Fashion Icon is a blue-based purple, that again has both holographic and normal hex glitters. The formula for this one seemed to be a bit thicker, making it a little more difficult to apply smoothly, but it meant it had very high coverage in just one coat. Once again, it dries relatively quickly and is pretty textured.
Overall I love all of these as toppers and it will be interesting to try over lighter bases to see how the tinted base works out. I found the formula inconsistent across these 3 polishes but other than there isn’t any real issue and I can see myself using all 3 – Fashion Icon has to be my favourite so far though.
These are still available to buy in Boots, Superdrug and online from Barry M for £3.99 each.
Keep an eye out for Part 2 🙂
