Swatch Sunday: W7 Matte Black and Lilac Haze

Today I have a new brand (to me) w7. Now i’ve heard of them before and they have been around for years but for some reason I haven’t bought any, maybe because they are renowned for being cheap and i thought maybe the polish wouldn’t be very good quality but I decided to just go for it and I picked up these 2 in my local budget beauty shop for just £1.99 each. They are 15ml bottles that look similar to O.P.I in shape and they have nice wide (unfortunately square) brushes. The smell isn’t great but it’s not so bad that you can’t use them.

First up is Matte Black (no. 55) in their matte finish range and I have to say I’m impressed. The first coat looks thin and like it’ll never build up to opacity in less than 3 or 4 coats but following the second coat it was opaque and smooth and lovely! It’s not very matte and it’s not shiny – more satin effect I think and it obviously comes up lovely and glossy with seche vite.

Lilac Haze (no. 52) is a lovely soft purple/lilac with pink undertones and I don’t own anything like this. It’s actually really nice to apply and come sup super shiny without topcoat which is always a bonus.

I would actually really recommend this brand and I can’t wait to try out more colours – the girl in the store said she had been wearing hers for 2 weeks and showed me her nails to which I saw there was only minimal tip wear! I can’t tell you this for myself as I haven’t had the chance to wear it for that long yet but you can always try it for yourself 😉
