Today I have the Models Own Festival Collection for you, it’s a set of 5 polishes which includes 4 neon brights and one glitter topper. I didn’t buy these products but I won them in a competition they were running so I can’t wait to share them with you… Bottle shots show without topcoat and the bottom pictures show with for all but the glitter topper which doesn’t have a topcoat 🙂
Green Fields is a bright neon green that needed 3 coats but it dried quickly and is shiny without a topcoat. The brushes in these polishes are quite thin and square which don’t best suit my nails but it works okay.
Blue Skies is a gorgeous bright blue, blue isn’t ever really neon but it’s bright! This applied opaque in 2 thin coats. The only issue I had was that in my particular bottle the brush was warped (pictured above) which made it hard to apply but I might just trim off the bent bristles.. we’ll see.
Purple Bandana is a neon pink toned purple. I think I rushed my application here and my topcoat in the bottom picture must have had blue on the brush 😦 But this is so pigmented that you only need 2 coats and could probably get away with one well applied coat if needs must.
Pink Wellies is a bright neon pink that applied smoothly to opaque in 2 coats once again.
Colour Explosion is a glitter topper that has a clear base containing an array of hex glitters of various sizes in peach, pale yellow, pale green, blue and holographic. I think it goes well with all the colours and you get good coverage with one coat, I don’t think it’s buildable to wear alone though.
So there we have it – a splash of colour before the summer finally escapes us! These are my first Models Own polishes and I’m pretty impressed with the formula so I might have to give some of their other collections a go.
Available to purchase for £4.99 at Superdrug, Models Own Bottle Shops or online.
