2016 Blog Review and Resolutions

First of all, I want to say thank you for supporting me this year. It’s been a tough one, especially in the last few months having been diagnosed and treated for cancer. I’m still having chemotherapy but I’ve managed to sustain my blogging after a short break and my views and interactions have been constant, if not increasing! I really appreciate all the support and well-wishes from you all too.

I started my blog back in May 2014 and that year I received 3,665 views in total. In 2015 it increased to 5,311, but it wasn’t until this year that I saw a huge jump as I’ve received a massive 24,677 (at time of writing). It’s a shame I couldn’t quite reach 25k! For some that may not seem like a lot of traffic but it’s a huge improvement for me so I’m really happy. My daily views have also grown and are around 100 on average; some days it reaches 200! img_0497

You can find me on Instagram, Pinterest, Bloglovin‘, Twitter and also Facebook now but Instagram is the platform that I use the most. My account has also seen improvements as I’ve now reached 1,873 followers (with fluctuations along the way). I feel like it should be more but because of the new Instagram algorithm I’m not getting the reach or likes I used to, sadly. Despite this I’ve enjoyed using it still and here’s my ‘2016 best nine’.

My aim for 2017 is to further improve my photographs, which have already seen a big increase in quality, and to start doing more nail art as I didn’t have much time this year. I also want to sort out my content and really think about what I want my blog to be about. I’ve enjoyed doing beauty products but do I want to keep my blog just as nails? What do you guys think? Do you like my content at the moment and what would you like to see in the future? I’m always open to suggestions!

To start the new year as I mean to go on, I did some nail art to welcome 2017! It’s pretty simple, but I’ve been staying at my parents over Christmas and for New Year so I have very limited supplies. I used Barry M Snowflake and stamped over it using Black Forest and the Born Pretty Store BP-1 006 stamping plate.

Again, thank you for all the love and support this year and here’s to another successful year of blogging in 2017! Happy New Year!
