Born Pretty Store Mermaid Nails

Moving on from my many Kiko Milano posts of last month (see them all here), I’m reviewing some Born Pretty Store items for you today. BPS has recently revamped their website and it looks great and feels so much easier to use! They sent me some products to try out recently, which I chose myself, and I loved them all. First I’ll show you the gels and Mermaid Powder. IMG_0562

UR SUGAR soak off UV gel – Black, 5ml £1.53UR SUgar Soak Off UV gel BlackUR SUgar Soak Off UV gel BlackUR SUgar Soak Off UV gel BlackI’m fairly new to gel nails so I was a bit speculative about this coming in a pot rather than in a standard bottle with a brush. Saying this, I actually found it really easy to apply, I used a curved nail art brush to do so. This is 2 coats without a gel topcoat and it comes out super shiny. The formula was lovely and easy to work with, making the application so much better. The only issue I had was how messy the pot came! (and how to pose without a bottle in hand…)

UR SUGAR soak off UV gel – White, 5ml £1.53UR SUGAR soak off UV gel - whiteIMG_0554UR SUGAR soak off UV gel - whiteAnd here’s the white version! I felt this one was a little less opaque so took 3 coats but this had the same formula and application as the black. Again with the messy pot!

BORN PRETTY Chameleon Mermaid Powder – #2, 0.5g £2.68BORN PRETTY Chameleon Mermaid Powder - #2, 0.5gBORN PRETTY Chameleon Mermaid Powder - #2, 0.5gBORN PRETTY Chameleon Mermaid Powder - #2, 0.5gBORN PRETTY Chameleon Mermaid Powder - #2, 0.5gBORN PRETTY Chameleon Mermaid Powder - #2, 0.5gI tried the mermaid powder over both the black and the white gel polishes and it gives a very different effect for each! Over the black, it has a teal to purple shift and over the white, it gives a soft pearlescent finish. It’s very easy to apply, using the mini sponge applicator provided or using your finger, and just brushes off your skin.

BORN PRETTY Chameleon Nail Polish – Eternal Life, 9ml £3.83IMG_0566IMG_0565So I didn’t get a swatch photo of this polish but you can see the finish of it in this mermaid nail art! It has a beautiful shift through gold, teal/green & purple. It’s a little thin so takes 3-4 coats for full coverage, but it stamps well! Shown here is one coat over the base colour.

BORN PRETTY Stamping Plate – BP-L067 £1.99BORN PRETTY Stamping Plate - BP-L067BORN PRETTY Stamping Plate BP-L067I couldn’t capture all the lovely floral images on this plate so I stole the image from the BP site. The images pick up and stamp well, as you can see from my nail art! A lovely little addition to my stamping plate collection.

That’s all I have for today! Very impressed with all of these items which come to a total of just £11.56.
