New MUA Light lustre highlight duo and Prism jelly highlight light spark swatches

NEW MUA Prism Jelly & Light Lustres Highlighters!

MUA have really upped their game this year. I loved them before (I own ALL of the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers) but now I can’t get enough of them! Their newest drop included a load of highlighters – cream, baked, powder, jelly… you name it! Most of it is under the PRISM range, which one of my items is from but I’m going to start with the Light Lustre Highlight Duos. Three were released, all at £5 each, and I grabbed Splendour because the colours seemed most suitable for my skin shade (read: super fucking pale). You can pick them up from the MUA site or from Superdrug

MUA Luxe Light Lustre Highlight Duo – SplendourMUA Luxe Light Lustre Highlight Duo Splendour SwatchesIMG_0815IMG_0816Splendour has a colour duo of white and blue baked highlighters. They have a pearl finish and are really pigmented – especially for such light shades. The palette itself didn’t catch my eye, I’m not a fan of the front, but the pans are quite large (3g each) and the colours are gorgeous. The other two palettes available are Lavish (purple themed) and Majesty (gold themed). I might try out Lavish – would purple suit me though!?

MUA Prism Jelly Highlight – Light SparkMUA Prism Jelly Highlight - Light Spark SwatchesIMG_0818IMG_0819HOLO PACKAGING! I’ll say no more about that… The Prism Jelly Highlight trios are just one of the new MUA Prism releases. I have Light Spark and it contains a white, light peachy gold and bronze highlighter (the latter might be a bit dark for me). They have a bouncy formula that applies like a cream with a dewy finish. They do apply quite sheer but are very buildable – I’ve built them up in the swatches so you can see the full effect. I actually really like these, I wasn’t sure I was going to, but because they have such a light finish I think they’ll be great for everyday wear.  However, I also think they’ll be great for a full glam look too! Also, according to the MUA site “the jelly highlight formula acts as a perfect base in which to overlay a powder for true multi-tonal looks”. I’ll have to give that a try. This palette was also £5 and available on the MUA site and Superdrug.

While I’m here, I might as well share the MUA Luxe Bashful Blush Trio (#2) with you!

MUA Luxe Bashful Blush Trio #2MUA Luxe Bashful Blush Trio - 2IMG_0821IMG_0822This is 1 of 2 of the blush trios with the geometric designs (released at the same time as the MUA Luxe Velvet Matte Lipsticks) and I picked this one because I thought the shades were much darker (see the Superdrug images for reference). The pink is a little vivid for me, but if you’re into your bright blushers these are very pretty! I think I can get away with the other two though. I was actually very, very surprised at how soft and blendable these were! The formula is very creamy and easy to build up. Again, £5 for three 3g pans – available on the MUA Site and Superdrug.

I got all 3 of these items in the 3 for 2 sale that’s currently running on the Superdrug site (and in-store) so I actually got myself a bargain – all 3 for £10! You can’t argue with that, especially as they are all really good quality. Have you tried MUA?
