I was kindly sent the new SensatioNail Professional Manicure & Pedicure System to try out, and I have to say it has made my life easier. I’ve recently started using a builder gel overlay on my natural nails to prevent them from breaking, this set helps with both application and removal. It includes “12 tools for shaping and filing nails and removing rough skin on feet and toes” and comes in a handy carry case with a UK plug.
As you can see the set includes everything you need for an at-home manicure or pedicure:
- 3 shaping discs for fingernails
- 3 larger shaping discs for toenails
- 3 filing cones
- Cuticle lifter
- Nail brush
- Dual speed hand-held unit
- Storage case
- Integrated nail dryer (touch activated)
It allows you to shape, file, buff, polish, push back cuticles, and even dry regular nail polish all in this little compact set! I haven’t used all of the adjustments yet, but the ones I have used (the filing cones, shaping discs for fingernails and nail brush) have been very useful. I personally would probably never use any of the shaping or filing discs on my natural nails are they could be too abrasive for my nails (they’re quite thin) but I have and will continue to use them on gel nails. I’m not saying you CAN’T use them on natural nails, I just think you should be careful!
So far, I’ve used the large filing cone to file down old gel overlays ready to soak off and the 2 smaller cones to shape new gel I’ve put on, and they work well for both of these steps. The nail brush comes in very handy for getting rid of all the dust from filing and shaping! The shaping discs are a bit hit and miss, I think you have to find the right angle to use them at for your nails because they can be a bit jumpy. I like how you control how quickly you file by choosing the different grit or speeds.
As you can see, the filing system works really well for gels! I like that the hand-held unit has 2 speeds, for more control over your work. I should note that the hand-held unit can be used while plugged in or, once charged, without; which is easier as there’s no cable to get tangled in (see here for more details on charging and powder).
Although I was sent this to review, I honestly think that for £29.99 this allows you to pamper yourself at home, saving you money in the long-run. I think it’ll be particularly useful to those of you who do gels – it’ll cut your buffing, shaping and removal time in half!
