Continuing on from my previous Barry M post, about the new Molten Metal nail paints, I also have 4 the new Under the Sea nail paints that were released not too long ago. This collection is now made up of 8 shimmery, duo-chrome shades. You can see my swatches of the original 4 here, but make sure you look at the new swatches first! You’re going to want to see the shifty goodness…
MoonfishFirst up we have the beautiful soft milky blue shade. I thought this was going to be similar to Butterflyfish but as I said, this is more of a milky-white/very pale blue with a blue to peach/pale gold shift. This is quite sheer and would work best over white/pale blue if you’d like to keep the colouring. I’ve used 3 coats alone and 2 coats over the black & white.
Pacific FlameI wasn’t expecting a colour like this in this collection but I’m loving this pink-toned deep red. It has a gold to green shift to it and is a little less sheer than Moonfish. I have still used 3 coats alone and 2 coats over black and white but this one can definitely be worn by itself.
Electric EelThis electric blue is so vivid! I love how the green to blue shift in the shimmer looks like how cartoon electric eels do when they send their volts through someone. It lives up to it’s name! The formula for this one sits somewhere between Moonfish and Pacific Flame, where the 3 coats I used weren’t quite enough to give full coverage. Again, I used 2 coats over the black & white.
SeahorseThis is probably the most interesting shade of the release. In the bottle it is purple, definitely, but on the nail… I can’t quite explain the colour – over white it looks olive green but it mostly looks purple on it’s own! The shift in it is from blue/purple through coppery-gold to green. I thought it was going to be similar to Purple Hex, last years Superdrug Limited Edition, but it’s not even close. This is 2 coats over black & white and 3 coats alone.
These are available from the Barry M website, Superdrug and Boots, alongside the original 4 shades. The tow latter of which currently have 3 for 2 on beauty!
I have to say, I’m really loving Barry M’s releases at the moment. It felt like they focused on makeup for quite some time and use nail polish lovers were missing out but this year they have well and truly spoilt us. I even have more new nail paints to show you – 4 brand new Gelly Hi Shine, 2 Boots Limited Edition Glitters and hopefully, (if I can get my hands on them when they’re released) the 2 Superdrug Limited Edition duo-chromes! Exciting things to come so keep your eyes peeled…

Ooh I didn’t know they’d released new shades. These look a bit more me than the originals x

I just made an order on Feelunique and almost got some of these! Until next time, I guess :] I really love the murkiness of Seahorse contrasted with that purple, it’s amazing!

Shifty goodness indeed. Pacific Flame is my favourite. Not really feeling Moonfish on its own but over white polish is nice.

I think Electric Eel is mine! I feel the same about Moonfish, it’s a bit meh on its own!
