As the title suggests… I have the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask from The Body Shop to review today. I received this as a Christmas present but I’ve only just gotten round to using it because I was using up my previous clay mask first. This mask is meant to refine and revive your skin. It’s 100% vegan, and cruelty-free, and is infused with bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves and organic tea tree oil. It’s also been formulated without parabens, paraffin, silicone or mineral oil. This invigorating charcoal face mask draws out impurities and refines the appearance of pores for healthy-looking skin with a glow that shows.

As you can see, it has a thick consistency and you can see the little bits of tea leaves in it. I love a clay mask that dries down, I’ve used ones in the past that haven’t and they just don’t feel like they do as good of a job.

I decided to apply this all over my face as it was feeling quite greasy everywhere and then left it to dry for 15 minutes.TOP TIP: use a brush for more accurate, mess-free application.
Do you wanna see some close ups?! Good, because you’re gonna.

So my pores aren’t terrible but they’re also not great. They get icky and enlarged if I don’t look after them. You can see that this masks helps to reduce the appearance of pores after just one use, by comparing the before and after! I tried really hard to get a close up shot of the same area of my face in both pictures and I’m pretty sure it’s VERY close.
In both the during and above photos, you can clearly see where the mask is drawing out the oils and build up in the pores – it’s where the darker spots are when it dries! Oddly satisying to look at…
I think I’m going to aim for weekly use, although it says use 2-3 times a week. I may use it for multi-masking however, in between uses (see below where I’m using it alongside the Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask)!

Overall, I really rate this mask. It is definitely something I will be repurchasing when I’ve use up this pot. It costs £17 for 75ml, and I have a feeling it will last me a while, but if you’re based in the UK you can join my Facebook group, The Body Shop with Chloe, and get access to it at an exclusive price! Trust me, I have some great deals…
