Barry M Summer 2019 Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paints: Swatches & Review

*PRODUCTS WERE SENT TO ME TO REVIEW*

Barry M finally released new Gellies! There are 4 in this release and all of them are perfect for summer. This brings us to a total of 58 Gelly Hi Shine nail paints! I have noticed that some of these shades are very similar to a few of the colours first released back in 2012/2013, but as the old shades aren’t availbale anymore these are great substitutes if you missed out. I’ve shared my comparisons below! Having said this, I hope they never discontinue this range, it’s one of my favourites.

NEW AW18 Barry M Gelly Hi Shine: Swatches & Review

Another Barry M blog post! They’re on a roll with their new releases recently and of course I had to get them all… This time I have the 4 new Gelly Hi Shine nail paints ready for autumn – I’m so glad they’re still making these as I love the formula. I feel like the range has definitely replaced the classic line too…Read More »

New AW17 Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine!

Barry M recently snuck out a load of new nail paints (11 to be exact… plus a peel-off basecoat) and I think it took a lot of us by surprise! There was no press release for these and I hadn’t seen anyone swatching them before I ordered (last Monday). When I found them, they were only available on the Barry M website but I think you can now find them in store and online at Superdrug – no sign of them at Boots yet though… I’m going to start with the 2 new Gelly Hi-Shine shades as these are what really kicked me off ‘collecting’ nail polish! I own all 50 now and most, but sadly not all, have been swatched on this blog (here). Read More »

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Autumn/Winter 2015 Swatches

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Autumn/Winter 2015 Swatches – Midnight and Glitter

Hello!

I have for you today 6 new polishes from Barry M! I have 4 Midnight Gellies and 2 Glitter(!!) Gellies. I have already showed you the Speedy Quick Dry A/W’15 release and last years A/W Gellies were just as exciting but let’s take a look at this years. Be warned.. this is picture heavy, hence why I’ve made the images smaller than usual but you can view them full size if you click on them! All swatches are in order of: bottle shot, 1 coat, 2 coat, plus topcoat, plus matte topcoat…

Black Currant is a deep rich burgundy that once you apply 2 coats becomes a tinted black, as with all of the first 4 of these new polishes! I absolutely love this idea as it’s something different. It’s hard to picture the true colour which is why I have chosen to show you them all with one coat so you can really see the undertones of the polishes.

Black Pistachio is a gorgeous deep dark forest green that again becomes a tinted black once 2 coats are applied. Despite them all being so dark you can definitely distinguish between them all.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Black Grape Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Black Grape Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Black Grape Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Black Grape Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Black Grape

Black Grape is a hard colour to describe – it’s like a navy but it’s bright at the same time and as soon as you apply the second coat it becomes super dark and rich but it still has the depth of the blue. I love it.

Black Cherry is a dark brown toned red that doesn’t become as dark as the other 3 upon the second coat. I also found this one to be a little more streaky and could’ve probably done with a 3rd coat and then maybe we would have seen the same affect as the others.

On to the GLITTER GELLIES. These are gorgeous and I hope they give us some more over time, as this is the first time we’ve seen glitters in the gellies. Sparkling Amethyst is a pink toned plummy purple (good description I know 😉 haha) with pinky/purply glitter specks of tiny glitter that gives it a real depth. It applies  perfectly in 2 coats and is still super shiny but also looks amazing mattified as it captures the glitters.

The same goes for Sparkling Ruby a true wine red which is just as sparkly as Amethyst. I found this applied the same as the purple but it didn’t go as matte – which is weird, maybe that’s down to my application, who knows! I don’t want to say it so i’ll say it quietly… this one will be prefect for *christmas* shh…

The Gelly nail paints are now available in Superdrug and will be available in Boots on the 30th September (although I bought mine in boots 2 on the 25th!). The Glitter Gelly nail paints are now available exclusively in Superdrug. All nail paints are their usual Gelly price of £3.99

Well that was an exciting post and I can’t wait to start wearing these this Autumn/Winter
