I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas so far! I’m still in the midst of celebrating with various friends and family visiting so just a quick post for today. I have some Freckles Polish colours for you, which I picked up on sale before Julieann took break from the shop. I’m not sure when she’ll be back but I hope it’ll be soon as these polishes are gorgeous.
Hello and welcome to my updated blog!
I know I’m a week late on the whole New Year thing but here we go! I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, I have to say it’s probably over a year, but I want to include more than just nail posts on my blog. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I have lost my interest in nails (I’ve just recounted my collection and I’ve reached 300…), it’s more to do with the fact that I love MORE than just nails in the beauty realm – such as bath and body products and, yes, even makeup.
So, although this will continue to primarily be a nail blog featuring my favourite (and most affordable, I’m on a budget here…) nail polishes and nail designs, I will be throwing in the occasional bath & body post and probably less frequently some makeup posts. I’m sorry if this doesn’t appeal to you but as you can tell I’ve had a long hard think about it and it’s something I want to do! I have yet to decide the frequency of these posts but I’ll keep you all updated on my instagram, which is where I post most frequently. I hope all my lovely followers and dedicated readers stick around for this and that I gain some new ones (welcome in advance!) I love all the support I get from you lot.
Stick around for the new blog 🙂
Love C x
I thought I’d share with you my collection of metallic nail polishes in gold, silver and bronze/copper/rose gold! This is just a quick post so enjoy the pictures – all swatches show 2 coats no topcoat.
So that’s it… they’re the only ones I currently own!
So I don’t have a favourite movie, I’m too indecisive for that but I decided to do The Hobbit today for Califronails nail art challenge because I wanted to try out a new polish I picked up using my Boots points.
For this mani I used Barry M Gold Glitter, Black Multi Glitter (the one I wanted to try out) and their nail art pen in white, China Glaze Mingle With Cringle and a random silver striper, which I got in a set of 50 from eBay about 2 years ago!
The Barry M Black Multi Glitter wasn’t as great as I had hoped. In the bottle you can see the tiny little silver and holo glitters perfectly fine but on the nail its a little underwhelming. But I went ahead and used it anyway.
To create this look I used one coat of Black Multi Glitter and dabbed on the Gold Glitter, just over the tips of my nails. I wanted it to look like the piles of gold that Smaug lives in. I then used the nail art pen to write on the title and draw the silhouette of Sting on my thumb nail. To make it look it more like the title in the film I then used a thin nail art brush to paint over the white with Mingle with Cringle and I used the silver to go over Sting, I tried to make it look like it was glowing… I topped it all off with HK Girl topcoat and applied my favourite cuticle cream from Burt’s Bees.
I know it’s not the best nail art but I’m learning – slowly! What do you think and what’s your favourite film?
