Once again, Ashleigh from Princess Nail Lacquer has released a beautiful autumn collection. The six polishes from this year are the perfect addition to last years autumn collection (here). I think there is only available (at the time of writing this) and I’m not sure if they’ll be restocked again… You’ll just have to keep an eye out for them. Read More »
I saw a lot of people grabbing these polishes from Primark before I had a chance to but when I went into town last week I managed to grab them all (almost impossible apparently!). They look like great holographic polishes, so I have no idea why they named them chromes! They’ve had chromes before that they’ve called holo… *shakes head* Anyway, other than the incorrect labelling, there are 4 lovely colours to share with you today. Oh! They cost £3 each and take 2 coats for full coverage. Read More »
This was meant to be my MUA Velvet Lip Lacquer full collection swatch post… but as I was doubling checking everything to post I released I’m missing a colour and I can’t find it! I’ll have to post next week if I can locate it in time! So for now I have the Barry M Limited Edition nail paints that came free with a Barry M buy from Superdrug. How cute is the packaging? As you may (or may not) be able to tell from the title I have 3 of the polishes from The Bookouture Girls Collection from the UK indie nail polish brand Ard As Nails.
Blissful Bookworm is a lovely deep purple with a strong holographic finish. It’s not as pigmented as Dark Night but it still only takes two coats – shown without topcoat.
Kitty’s Secret is a gorgeous deep berry red leaning pink. Again it is very pigmented and has a strong holographic finish – two coats shown without topcoat.
All 3 of these polishes have an amazing amount of holographic glitters in, although the Dark Knight is more ‘subtle’, and they both take just 2 coats each for full coverage which is fab. Also – don’t they look amazing matte?
You can get these from the website for £3.50 each for 4.5ml and £6.50 for 15ml.
Today I have a quick little comparison of all the holographic glitter polishes I own, after winning another one in a giveaway from Leanne over at @leasnails. I have 4 in total now: Barry M Silver Light, Primark, Barry M Diamond Glitter and China Glaze Fair Lights (in the same order below).
This all of them next to each other, so lets take a look at each one to see the differences. All swatches show 2 coats + topcoat.
Barry M Silver Lights is one of Boots Xmas LE from last year. All the glitters are small holographic hexes and I think it has pretty good coverage for a glitter topper but I do feel like it’s missing something… It’s not available anymore but it was £3.99 when I bought it.
This is the Primark polish, from the P.S. range, it doesn’t have a name annoyingly but I think I actually prefer this to Silver Light because it seems to have more depth due to the smaller glitters that are packed into. The coverage is better too. It costs just £1. One thing I will say is that it stinks! But if you can get past that, it’s lovely.
Barry M Diamond Glitter contains a range of hex holographics, which is lovely! The coverage is great but not as good as the Primark one. Again it’s £3.99 and it’s still available to buy.
China Glaze Fairy Dust is the last of my holographic nail polishes. It’s different to the others because the glitters are much smaller. This has a lighter coverage so I can’t really compare it! The price varies depending on where you buy it so it’s better to have a look around.
I have to say I think my favourite out of these four has to be the Primark polish or Diamond Glitter!
