In my attempt at getting the ‘free’ Barry M Matchmaker gifts from Superdrug and Boots, that I shared in yesterday’s blog post, I decided to expand my Matte Me up liquid lipstick collection. I ended up buying 3 from both the sites to meet the minimum spend, plus a mascara, but they’re all colours I eventually wanted to get my hands on anyway. they cost £4.99 each and have an amazing formula for the price, which I talked about in my last review. I also have a lip kit that was free with another order earlier in this month. Not that I can remember what I bought to get it now…Read More »
Having reviewed Makeup Revolution Lipkits before (not a fan!) and lip kits becoming a ‘thing’, I’ve decided to have a look at a couple of other brands to see if I like any of the others. Recently, both Primark and Barry M have released their own lip kits so I grabbed a few. I actually wanted a couple of colours from Primark but I could only find one, sadly! But I have two from Barry M too.Read More »
Okay, I’m going to start by apologising for the terrible lighting in these… okay it might not be terrible but it’s not great either! The room I usually use for swatches and such is my bedroom, which is currently out of bounds due to work being done that involves taking down part of the wall due to a leak… Leaving my boyfriend and myself to live in our living room/kitchen for possibly 2 weeks or more! I can do work in the living room at the table but the lighting is terrible. It’s a dark room because it’s at the back of the house and trees block any sunlight that might actually reach it… So, I’m left with crappy yellow-toned downlighters which create horrible shadows and my LED white light lamp which kind of saves the day – to an extent!
Sorry, enough about that… Makeup Revolution has released ‘dupes’ for the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits, called the Retro Luxe Matte Lip Kits (a bit of a mouthful!) and although I don’t own any of Kylie’s products for comparison, I thought I’d pick up some the kits for a stand-alone review. Read More »
Today, I finally got around to swatching the new Sleek Lip VIP lipsticks that have been released for A/W ’16. Two sets of 3 shades came out just weeks apart in September and obviously I had to have them. I received 3 of them for my birthday and then I treated myself to the others. The formula is lovely and creamy and dries to a semi-matte finish, so they don’t dry your lips out. They cost £5.50 from the Sleek website or £5.49 in Boots and Superdrug, where they are often on offer.
Not too long ago in my little blogging world I shared two of the Sleek Matte Me ultra smooth matte lip creams with you and now I have three more, in various shades of red. I picked these up what seems like ages ago now but I haven’t had space on my blogging schedule until now! Hopefully my photographs are better this time around..
