Recently I’ve been visiting Superdrug (online & in store) more than I used to, I think it’s because of MUA and Makeup Revolution which you can’t buy in Boots, but over the last few weeks I’ve bought quite a few items and thought I’d share them with you. I’ve said my favourite feature item until last! Read More »
Yup. My first post of 2016 is was actually meant to go up as my last post of 2015! Long story short the parcel had to be redelivered and I only received it on the 2nd of January but lets take a look at it…
I used to buy Rimmel polishes a lot when I was younger but I guess I just moved on to Barry M as they had more options, but I recently received 2 polishes from their ’60 seconds’ range for my birthday from some of my friends, so I thought I’d give them another shot. Now this range claims to be ‘One-coat nail polishes’ as well as drying in ‘less than 60 seconds’.. We’ll see.I have 819 Green With Envy and 713 Little Bo Peep to share with you today.
Green With Envy is a gorgeous shimmery teal. I have to say this is 100% NOT a one-coater, as claimed, but took 3 coats to get the coverage shown above. Drying time, however, was pretty quick but I’m not convinced it’s less than 1 minute! Saying that though, this is colour is stunning so I can’t complain!
Little Bo Peep is a lovely soft, pale grey. I feel like this might need a white undie..The swatch shoes 3 coats and as you can see there still isn’t complete coverage but it is such a nice colour. I think it’s always difficult with pale colours to get them opaque – maybe a coat of white will help with this. It, again, does seem to dry super fast.
What I also love about these polishes is the ‘Xpress Flat Brush’ (you can see the diagram on the Envy swatch) which does actually make application easier and quicker because the brush is flatter and wider and much easier to control I think, especially around the cuticle area as my nails are quite small.
I think I may invest in a few more colours from Rimmel in the future just to see how they’re other colours fair out.
